Wine Tasting

East Greenwich Parks and Recreation is hosting its first ever wine tasting event at Auburn Road Vineyard and Winery on Thursday, February 25th from 7 - 9 pm. Tickets will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Each ticket is good for a tasting of sample wines and one glass of your selection. There will be food, music and door prizes as well. All proceeds to to benefit East Greenwich Parks and Recreation.

Tickets may be purchased at the Township Building beginning on January 19th, or by mailing a check and a self addressed stamped envelope to: East Greenwich Township Parks and Recreation 159 Democrat Road Mickleton, NJ 08056 All checks should be made out to East Greenwich Parks and Recreation. There is a limit of 100 tickets, so get yours early!!

Park Information:

•  Hidden Acres Park:  This 50-acre park is located off Jessup Mill Road has a stream, foot ball and baseball fields and picnic and barbecue facilities.

• Mickleton Park: Dedicated to Laura Getsinger, this park is located on Democrat Road in Mickleton, and has a playground for young children and a small open pavilion.  Across the street are two tennis courts and a small park.

•  Thompson Family Park:  This new 60-acre park located at 40 East Wolfert Station Road, Mickleton  features soccer and lacrosse fields, walking trails, playgrounds, tennis courts and picnic areas.

 

Park Rules and Regulations:

Park Hours:  The Park is open during daylight hours, except during organized games or events under park lights.
Fields are available for public use unless previously scheduled through the Park Director.  To reserve a field, please contact the Park Director at (609) 221-9645 or parkdirector@eastgreenwichnj.com.

Sports Code of Conduct enforced.
No indecent or improper conduct.
No firearms, fireworks, paintball, model planes/rockets or metal detectors.
No golfing, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, or swimming.
No trail/mini-bikes, ATVs, motorcycles or snowmobiles.
No alcohol, drug, or tobacco use or consumption.
No cleats on or around playground equipment.
No unleashed pets. With the exception of Police K-9 and Guide Dogs, leashed pets are allowed only on walking trails.  Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet, and their pet’s behavior.
No motorized vehicles on fields or pathways except for Township owned vehicles and/or emergency vehicles.  Vehicles restricted to designated driving areas and parking lots only.  No idling.  5 mph speed limit in park.
No dumping or littering.  Dispose of trash in designated receptacles.  East Greenwich Township recycles.

 

Youth Sports Information:

East Greenwich Youth Basketball League
This program allows local youth, in grades 3 through 5, to participate in basketball games within the school's district and the county. Registration is held in October and the season begins in November.

Kingsway Youth Football and Cheerleading Program
This organization functions as a feeder program for the Kingsway Regional High School football system.

Meetings: Second Thursday of each month January through July  and every Thursday August 1 through November 30 at the Samuel N. Giordano Sports Complex.


Kingsway Youth Lacrosse Club
The lacrosse club is dedicated to growing the sport of lacrosse in the area. Kingsway Youth Lacrosse is open to all Boys and Girls that are in grades 3 through 11 as of Janurary 1, 2008.

East Greenwich Little League, Inc.
The Little League provides a supervised program of competitive baseball and softball games conforming to the rules of Little League Baseball, Inc.  All East Greenwich Children between 5-16 are eligible to join this league (**All children born on/before April 30, 2002 are eligible**).

East Greenwich Soccer Association
The Soccer Association promotes, fosters and perpetuates the game of soccer on a youth level and provides competition for all its members to play the game in accordance with high standards of sportsmanship and fair play.

Kingsway Dragon Junior Wrestling Association, Inc.
Provides instruction in the sport of wrestling to children within the Kingsway Regional High School sending district. Participants range in age from 5 to 15 or 8th grade (whichever comes first). Signups are held in November. An annual wrestling tournament is held in December.

Kingsway Elite Rec Cheerleading
Kingsway Elite is a competitive rec cheer team composed of local youth from the Kingsway school district. We participate in several competitions annually, as well as cheer for the East Greenwich Youth Basketball League. Registration is open to children ages 5 through 15.
